The diesel buses

The ÜSTRA vehicle fleet comprises currently 68 buses with diesel drive produced by the companies MAN and Solaris.

Between 2008 and 2011, the ÜSTRA bought a total of 39 low-floor buses from the manufacturer MAN. The new MAN buses are technically state-of-the-art and protect the climate. With their proven silver/orange /green design they complement the ÜSTRA fleet.

Particularly pleasing: MAN was able to assert itself in the Europewide call for tenders. The MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH invested in a large delivery storage in Langenhagen and created jobs in the region. At the current time the delivering plant is closed.

With 47 seats, 107 standing spots and two spaces for wheelchairs, the MAN bus can transport more than 150 passengers safely. All vehicles are equipped with a camera.

he ÜSTRA bus fleet was renewed in 2006 and 2007 with a total of 21 new vehicles type Urbino 12 of the Polish manufacturer Solaris. The Urbino bus is twelve metres long and 250 hp strong.

Due to the laughing front of the buses, the cityscape appears more friendly and the air is kept cleaner. The reason: the new vehicles comply with the Euro 5 emission limits. The Solaris buses run on diesel engines and are equipped with handicapped accessible low-floor technology. The green roof and the orange covers were designed by the University of Applied Sciences for Design and Media in Hanover.
