City Bus

The city buses are focused on the needs of passengers with impaired mobility and are constantly brought in line with the state of the art.

Information for passengers with wheelchairs, walking frames, pushchairs:

  • All ÜSTRA buses are low-floor buses which can be lowered for entrance with walking frames or pushchairs.
  • For entering with a wheelchair, all ÜSTRA buses are equipped with a ramp (explanation see below)
  • There are special places for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
  • Several seats are marked as seats for severely disabled persons.
  • Additional stop buttons are placed at seat height.

Information on e-scooter use in our vehicles

  • The requirement for taking is a valid severely handicapped pass containing the code „G“ or „aG“
  • Maximum permissible length of the e-scooters is 1,20 meters
  • Number of wheels: 4
  • Maximum weight incl. user: 350 kg
  • Placement along driving direction
Additional stop buttons are placed at seat height.

Information for visually impaired and blind passengers:

  • The stop buttons are provided with Braille.
  • A clear perceptibility of the handrails is ensured by the orange color.
  • The name of the next stop is announced.

Information for hearing-impaired passengers:

  • Screens display the route and transfer connections.
Just like in the city railway vehicles, orange handrails in the buses provide a good contrast.

This is how the ramp works:

  • Please give the driver a hand signal that you like to enter.
  • Push the button with the wheelchair pictograph next to the second bus door.
  • During extension of the ramp you can hear a warning sound.
  • The ramp needs 1 meter, please keep a sufficient distance.
  • The door will open in case the ramp is raised to its full extend.
  • The ramp can hold a maximum of 300 kg.
Manual or electrical ramps facilitate the access for wheelchair users.
