Compliance at ÜSTRA
ÜSTRA, as a publicly funded mobility service, bears a special responsibility to behave in an exemplary manner in all business operations.
The ÜSTRA umbrella brand encompasses ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG and regiobus Hannover GmbH, as well as their cooperation in joint operations.
By exemplary conduct, we mean in particular compliance with laws, legal regulations and internal rules, but also consideration for the rights and expectations of others, fair negotiations and contractual fidelity.
ÜSTRA therefore operates a compliance management system (CMS) tailored to the needs of a mobility service, which includes the following:
If you should find out violations of this code of conduct and/or compliance rules, you are welcome to use our whistle-blower system to make us aware of them.
The whistle-blower system of ÜSTRA gives you the chance to inform us about violations of legal regulations and/or compliance rules and to thus contribute to their exposure. This happens through a publicly accessible system.
Please note that our whistle-blower system is not aimed at complaints about our service. If you should be dissatisfied with regard to our mobility services, please contact our customer service, which you can reach here.
Specific information is important and can help to eliminate violations of guidelines and laws and prevent the negative consequences of such misconduct for customers, employees, business partners and the company. ÜSTRA has set up a whistleblower system for this purpose. By ‘whistleblower system,’ we mean the point of contact for people inside and outside ÜSTRA who want to report violations related to ÜSTRA.
In particular, ÜSTRA is aware of its corporate due diligence obligations and ensures compliance with legal regulations in its own business area and in the selection of its suppliers and partners. If human rights or environmental risks, as well as violations of human rights or environmental obligations, are identified by internal and external interest groups and all potentially affected parties, these can be reported via the existing whistleblower system.
All reported information and justified suspicions are processed in a transparent, balanced and predictable manner for all parties involved. The confidentiality and protection of the identity of whistleblowers is maintained. We ensure, as far as possible and within our sphere of influence, that whistleblowers are protected from discrimination and punishment in connection with the complaints they submit.

The Compliance Ombudsman's Office acts as a complaints office for our employees and third parties as an external point of contact for possible violations of laws and regulations in connection with ÜSTRA's activities. It is also a complaints office within the meaning of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (§ 8 LkSG).

All contact persons will treat your information as strictly confidential. If you still have concerns about giving your name, our ombudsman service provides a secure reporting channel for information about possible compliance violations on the Internet. There, information can be submitted anonymously and untraceably around the clock. You have the option of contacting the ombudsman service and exchanging documents via the communication platform. To ensure that even accessing the whistleblower system cannot be traced, we recommend that you use the following link in a trusted environment, in a new browser window and using the so-called ‘private window’ (Firefox) or ‘incognito window’ (Chrome): www.vertrauenssachen.de/üstra
External reporting office at the Federal Office of Justice (BfJ)
Another option for reporting (by post, telephone or in person) is the whistleblower office of the Federal Office of Justice: https://www.bundesjustizamt.de/DE/MeldestelledesBundes/ZustaendigkeitderMeldestellen/ZustaendigkeitderMeldestellen_node.html
Before using this reporting channel, please check whether reporting to one of the above-mentioned ÜSTRA reporting channels is an option for you, as this is often the more appropriate way to bring information to the attention of the people who can investigate and remedy the violation most quickly.
Please also note that deliberately false reports may have legal consequences.
