Deutschland­ticket subscription

You can conveniently order the Deutschlandticket online from ÜSTRA. It will be provided digitally either in the ÜSTRA app or on your ÜSTRA chip card. All important information about the ticket – including available products, how to order, and frequently asked questions – can be found below.

How do I order my Deutschland­ticket?

Ticket validity

  • Area of validity

    • Nationwide offer – valid only at participating companies
  • Vehicles

    • For unlimited travel on all public transport services within Germany (including city and regional buses, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains, regional trains, on-demand services such as sprinti, and in some cases ferries)
  • Interval

    • Personal monthly travel pass (subscription-based)
    • Always issued for a calendar month, valid from the first day of the month through to the last day.
  • Person

    • Bringing additional passengers, animals, and bicycles is only allowed in accordance with the local rules of the transport operator or transport association.
    • In the ÜSTRA area (zones ABC), the following applies: no additional passengers allowed; bicycles can be carried free of charge at certain times; small pets in transport carriers may be carried as hand luggage free of charge.
    • Holders of a valid Deutschlandticket or the D-Ticket Plus monthly pass may, in zones ABC, bring along one person aged 18 or older and up to three children or youths aged between 6 and 18:
      • Monday to Friday from 7:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following day (based on scheduled departure time), and
      • All day on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, as well as December 24 and 31.
  • Traveller class

    • valid only for second class
    • In zones ABC, holders of a valid Deutschlandticket with the 1st Class surcharge monthly pass for the D-Ticket are entitled to use first class on railway services.

Important information about the Deutschlandticket

Long-distance trains such as ICE, IC, and FlixTrain are not included in the Deutschlandticket offer. Additionally, trips that go beyond the German border and purely tourist transport services (e.g. cable cars) are excluded – unless they are officially part of public transport (ÖPNV).

However, the Deutschlandticket subscription is valid on the IC/EC route between Bremen Hbf and Norddeich Mole / Emden-Außenhafen. In general, the terms and conditions of carriage and fare regulations of the respective transport company or association apply in the area you are traveling.

Please note: The Deutschlandticket subscription is only valid together with an official photo ID.

How to order your ticket

  • The mobile ticket (Handyticket) in the ÜSTRA App can be ordered until the 20th of the month for the following month.
  • The ÜSTRA chip card must be ordered by the 1st of the previous month (e.g. to travel from October 1st, the order must be placed by September 1st).
  • You can cancel your Deutschlandticket subscription monthly, up to and including the 10th of the month for the end of that month.
  • You will need either:
    • a smartphone with the ÜSTRA App (available for iOS and Android), or
    • a ÜSTRA chip card issued by us. 

How to get your mobile ticket

  • If you haven't already, download the ÜSTRA App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  • Register in the ÜSTRA App using the same email address you used when ordering the Deutschlandticket subscription.
  • Log in to the ÜSTRA App.
    Your ticket will appear in the app no later than 48 hours before the first day of validity.
  • Important: Make sure to use the same email address for both your order and your app registration so we can assign your ticket correctly.
