Anyone who uses the ÜSTRA city buses and trams without a valid ticket, commits an offence. The fines imposed in such cases amount to 60 Euros. If the amount claimed remains unpaid within 14 days, it will increase to 67 Euros. At the latest on the third occasion, a criminal complaint may occur as well.
Customers with an individual subscription (such as school children, the elderly, holders of a Mobile Card S (MobilCard S) or corporate customers), who have forgotten their card, pay a reduced price of 7 Euros only. This applies of course only for subscribers with non-transferable cards, because only in that event it can be excluded that the card was not used by others than the holder. Pupils enjoy the reduction to 7 Euros, when they present their valid personal card (School Card, monthly school travel pass, etc.) subsequently.
Here's how it works: Someone dodging the fare, can clear debts in the ÜSTRA customer centre or by bank transfer.
Should you have any questions, please note that all documents concerning your case are in most cases available after three days in the customer centre.
This applies to all passengers: An objection to the claims of the ÜSTRA must be submitted in writing within 14 days to
ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG
Bereich EBE
Postfach 2540
30025 Hannover
If there is no objection, all passengers may pay the increased transport charges or the service fee within 14 days by bank transfer or personally in the customer centre. Incidentally, you can as well buy tickets and cards in the customer centre.
